BLUE RIDGE BUNGALOW

Nestled in Seattle’s Blue Ridge neighborhood, this 1956 midcentury home was ready for a thoughtful refresh. The clarity of the original architecture set a strong foundation, guiding a renovation that honors its modernist roots while adapting the home for contemporary family life.

The existing kitchen was constrained and lacked functionality. We reimagined the space entirely—opening the plan, vaulting the ceiling, and introducing a more intuitive flow and efficient work triangle.

The result is a home that feels fresh, timeless, and well-suited to the demands of a busy young family.

The guest bath called for a single bold move, so we carried handmade “Tropics Blue” geometric tile from Heath Ceramics floor-to-ceiling along the vanity wall.

The saturated blue brings a sense of playfulness, while soft whites and natural textures keep the compact space feeling fresh, balanced, and bright.
